When you are planning your beautiful new bathroom, your mind’s eye may overlook the more practical elements of having a freestanding bathtub – particularly if it is in the centre of the room rather than against a wall.  Your lovely bath needs water piped to it and an outlet for waste. These will be visible. Here at The Cast Iron Bath Company we have developed a range of shrouds and covers, which perfectly coordinated with the rest of the room, hiding unsightly pipe work and giving a neat, luxurious finish.

As protection against flooding, all baths need to have an overflow waste outlet.  To combat this issue for freestanding baths we offer an exposed overflow waste unit.  This purpose built unit connects at the top of the bath - behind the overflow hole - allowing any excess water to flow around the back of the bath and down to waste outlet underneath. All the components of The Cast Iron Bath Company’s exposed overflow waste unit are made from brass which is then finished in either chrome or nickel plate to perfectly coordinate with the rest of your bathroom.  The detailing on the metalwork is subtle, meaning the impact on the lines of your beautiful new freestanding bath are kept to a minimum.

You have two choices when considering the removal of waste water from your freestanding bath; allow waste water to flow through the floor or via a wall.  Either way some element of the vital pipe work may be visible.   The Cast Iron Bath Company’s shallow seal bath trap connects to the exposed overflow waste unit  underneath the bath.  It is specifically made for freestanding cast iron baths and allows the feet to sit securely on the floor. All components made from brass which is then beautifully finished in either chrome or nickel plate.  This allows your waste pipes to perfectly coordinate with your bath taps and other metallic elements of your bathroom.

The Cast iron Bath Company has developed a small range of shrouds made specifically for baths with tap holes. The shrouds cover the copper of plastic piping of you taps meaning that they match the rest of the room and cover any unsightly pipe work. This means that you can get water into your beautiful freestanding bath without having any pipe work on show. The shrouds are telescopic and simply thread onto the taps, making them easy to install. All the components are made from brass and finished in either chrome or nickel plate to match your bathroom.

In a similar way to shrouds covering the pipe work to taps for baths with holes, standpipes cover the pipe work for taps which fill baths without holes.  Indeed any freestanding container! The standpipes sold by The Cast Iron Bath Company cover the copper or plastic piping for your freestanding taps. Flexible tap connectors feed through the standpipes and the taps are then fitted to the top of each standpipe.  The standpipes and taps can be placed anywhere around the bath, but typically are placed behind the overflow hole of the bath. Standpipes are available in a choice of two heights and two finishes, allowing you to get the perfect finish in your bathroom.
