Summary
When Kathryn Davison moved into her County Durham home 20 years ago, she never imagined the level of interest her home renovation journey would attract. But nearly five years after launching My Millennium Maison Instagram account, her passion for DIY and interior styling has earned her a loyal following of almost 150,000 people.
Her latest project, the family bathroom, had been renovated when they first moved in, but over time it had begun to feel dated and in need of a refresh. With limited space to work with, it was not going to be a straightforward renovation.
The moment of inspiration
Kathryn’s inspiration came from Cast Iron Bath Company bath taps she spotted on Instagram. She incorporated them into her mood board, and that became the starting point.
“I reached out to the team and they were incredibly helpful. It’s quite a small area and couldn’t fit a shower in, so I wanted a bath that would make a statement.”

The vision realised
The team introduced her to the Petite Delaunay RossaStone® bateau bath, an exclusive pre-launch model not yet available on their website. Initially, Kathryn considered an acrylic bath from another supplier to accommodate her space and budget constraints. However, after sharing her vision with the team, she was delighted to discover the RossaStone® option, a more luxurious option, blending elegance and functionality for a similar price.
“It doesn’t just look amazing; it’s incredibly comfortable for a long soak,” she says. “I’m so glad I took the time to speak with the team. They really listened and introduced me to new options ahead of the official product launch.”
Mixing metal finishes with style
Kathryn was also keen to experiment with mixed metal finishes.
“I already had antique brass light fittings and wanted traditional style tapware that would complement them. I chose Linton taps in polished nickel for both the basin and bath. It has a warm, living quality and I’m really excited to watch the richness of colour deepen over time.”
Another wish list item was a double vanity unit, but space again posed a concern. Thanks to clever joinery and precise measurements, Kathryn was able to install a bespoke painted Wytham double vanity, perfectly tailored to the room.

Customer service that's second to none
Finally, Kathryn chose an Esk toilet; new to the market and distinguished by its elegant curves. The project was completed with coordinating polished nickel accessories, including a traditional oval towel ring, double robe hook and bar toilet paper holder, bringing the bathroom together beautifully.
“Cast Iron Bath Company customer service was second to none,” she adds. “When you’ve booked a plumber, it’s critical that items arrive on time and function as expected. Whenever we had a query, especially about fitting, the team responded quickly and kept the project on schedule.”
