Coronation Street Star Antony Cotton Crafts Luxurious Airbnb in Scarborough’s Old Town

Summary
Antony Cotton, known for his long-running role as Sean Tully on ITV’s Coronation Street, has turned his talents from acting to interior design in a remarkable renovation project.
Alongside his partner Peter Eccleston, Antony transformed a former Presbyterian church in Scarborough’s historic Old Town into a lavish Airbnb retreat. Antony, Peter, and their miniature schnauzer, Hansom, spent three years restoring this three-storey property, carefully preserving its historic charm while updating it with modern comforts. A key part of their vision was sourcing materials and products from local businesses, and Cast Iron Bath Company, based in Scarborough, became a cornerstone of their bathroom renovation.

Traditional Elegance
Some standout features of the property are the luxurious bathrooms, all designed around high-quality fixtures and fittings, a blend of classic styles with modern-day luxury.
A freestanding 19th century inspired Charmouth cast iron bath is custom painted in Farrow & Ball “Railings”, to compliment the Victorian style wallpaper. Paired with polished brass shower mixer taps, the bath is elegantly positioned within the master bedroom, creating a romantic and indulgent atmosphere. The adjoining bathroom space has a beautifully appointed traditional toilet and pedestal basin, and a semi exposed polished brass shower.

Stylish and Practical
The second bedroom ensuite bathroom effortlessly blends timeless luxury with traditional charm. A classic pedestal basin and a matching toilet, radiate an air of refined elegance. These vintage elements are juxtaposed with a modern, spacious walk-in shower, featuring clean, minimalist lines, offering both style and practicality.

Sleek Solutions Maximise Space
The third ensuite reflects a continuation of this seamless fusion of styles. The couple ingeniously maximised the compact space with a sleek cloakroom basin, maintaining practicality without compromising on elegance.
“When we were putting together the ideas for renovating the seaside house in Scarborough, one of the major things I wanted to make sure we did, wherever possible, was make the house authentic. So when an interior designer friend of mine told me about Cast Iron Bath Company, that was based locally in Scarborough, there was only one place I was going to buy from. They have the look of antique Victorian bathrooms, but with the total reliability, and luxury, of modern brass and sanitaryware. I couldn’t be happier”
